The House of Colours in Tirana continues to shine as a beacon of safety, care, and empowerment for children, women, and families affected by violence, trafficking, and exploitation. Operated by Nisma për Ndryshim Shoqëror ARSIS, this community centre has, over the years, become a lifeline thanks to the steadfast support of the European Union, UNICEF, and the Municipality of Tirana.

On 11th of June 2025, we had the honour of welcoming EU Ambassador to Albania, Silvio Gonzato, whose visit reaffirmed the European Union’s strong commitment to strengthening inclusive and community-based social services—an essential pillar of Albania’s EU integration journey.

Speaking during the visit, Ambassador Gonzato shared:
“Visiting the House of Colours today was a truly emotional experience. The love and care, the dedication and professionalism of the staff, the gratitude and the resilience of the children and mothers I met were heartwarming. I realised what a difference community-based and inclusive social services make. Today I witnessed the work of people who embody the values on which the European Union rests: human rights, solidarity, and non-discrimination.”
This visit comes under the framework of the #EU4SocialCare programme, through which the EU proudly supports initiatives that uphold dignity, protection, and opportunity for the most vulnerable members of society.
For the entire Nisma ARSIS team, the Ambassador’s presence was deeply inspiring. It reminded us why we commit ourselves each day to this work. The recognition and encouragement from a strong and principled partner like the EU reenergised our mission.
